April 2016: I defended my dissertation, which was accepted with distinction.
July 2015: I received a Dissertation Fellowship from Saint Louis University.
April 2014: I attended Congressional Visits Day, during which I met with the staff of several members of Congress from Missouri, Kentucky, and New Mexico.
March 2014: I was honored as one of two graduate students to present ongoing dissertation work at the Saint Louis University Department of Biology seminar series.
February 2014: I was awarded sponsorship through the Botanical Society of America to attend Congressional Visits Day in Washington D.C. on April 9-10. Among other exciting events, I will be give the opportunity to have coffee with Sen. Claire McCaskill and meet with the staff of other Missouri policy makers!
April 2013: I won first place for my pollination poster ("Sexual Reproduction and Self-compatibility of the Invasive Vine (Pueraria montana) in Missouri Roadside Populations") at the Saint Louis University Graduate Student Association Research Symposium.
March 2013: My NSF East Asian Pacific Summer Institute for Graduate Students proposal was funded! As an EAPSI fellow, I will be performing a pollination study on kudzu in Kunming, China for eight weeks this summer.
